First of all, thank you to all those who have visited this site and left comments. While reading them I can see that you sharing your thoughts and personal experiences is helping many more people than this site could ever do on its own, so keep sharing! For many people with social anxiety, even posting up a comment anonymously can be anxiety provoking so I really appreciate all those who have taken the time to write something. Apologies that I have not managed to reply to all individually.

I am currently take a break from the blog and my videos. I need to focus my time on other projects in my life. This is just a temporary measure though and I am itching to get back to taking this site to the next level.

I hope you are all doing well and finding ways to move your life in the direction you want to move it in, or if not, then that you are not far away from getting to that stage.

Best wishes,

Nick

I have been busy developing Social Anxiety West, the Bristol social anxiety self-help group. I have just finished creating their new website (www.sawest.org) and we are starting another group in North Bristol due to increased numbers in members. Once things settle down a bit, I will be right back here!

Some of you may have been wondering what is going on with the socialanxiety.co.uk website? I am currently in the process of developing the From Social Anxiety to Social Confidence products and these will become available soon. Their development, and the development of the rest of the website for that matter, has been put on hold until now, but socialanxiety.co.uk and its followers have certainly not been forgotten. My time has been needed elsewhere in my life recently, but I am now working hard to deliver a fresh and honest approach to becoming socially confident that unravels the mysteries of social anxiety and provides the solutions people need.

So what can you expect? I’ll be posting more information on the products at a later date, but in the mean time here are some clues…

A new perspective on social anxiety

The benefits of therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy without the pitfalls

Issues surrounding motivation and procrastination addressed

Information on common approaches that are ineffective or counter-productive

A balanced view that does not discount things such as the fact that sometimes people are nasty to us

Why you are sensitive to criticism and how to develop resistance to it

and how to improve your communication and relationships

Current theories of social anxiety, and the methods derived from them, seem to only get people so far. My mission has always been to not only help people ease their social anxiety and get closer to a ‘normal’ life, but to help them surpass average levels of social confidence and become outstanding human beings. This has forced me to break away from the current theories of social anxiety and answer the questions they leave unanswered. If you are looking for something that delves a little deeper into the workings of social anxiety and provides the potential for better than average confidence then please stay tuned
