Avoid or face social situations?
In this video I answer the title question, “is it better to avoid or face social situations, even if exposure therapy is not working for you?” and talk about if exposure therapy is helpful, false progress and the effects of avoidance.

Facing is better, as long as you don’t have to resort to negative means (berating one self, for example) for motivation. The more you engage, the easier it gets. It takes time to build confidence, but it’s worth it. I’m definitely not where I’d like to be but I’m seeing steady progress from regular reinforcement.
